Traditional Chinese Medical Massage for Health & Wellbeing

Tuina (pronounced twee-nah) is one of the oldest forms of therapeutic bodywork, practised in China for thousands of years as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Using a combination of massage, acupressure and gentle mobilisation techniques, Tuina helps ease muscular tension, improve movement and encourage the smooth flow of Qi and Blood.

Rather than focusing on one area alone, treatment considers the body as a whole, supporting balance, comfort and overall wellbeing.

Depending on the treatment, Tuina may be carried out over light, loose-fitting clothing or directly onto the skin using massage wax or oil. Yvonne will explain what is most appropriate before treatment begins.

Some clients notice positive changes after one treatment, while longer-standing or more persistent conditions may benefit from a course of care. Recommendations will be discussed during the consultation.

Although Tuina is suitable for many people, there are some situations where treatment may need to be adapted or postponed. Anyone who is unsure whether Tuina is appropriate is welcome to get in touch, and Yvonne will be happy to advise.
